Flat File Connector: Creating IT Resource Type

This guide demonstrates how to create an IT resource type. The flat file connector provided by Oracle is used as an example.

IT resource types are templates for the IT resource definitions that reference them. After defining an IT resource type, you will be able to create an instance of an IT resource of the new type.

Step 1: Log into to design console. To start up design console, execute the "xlclient.sh" located in "IDM_HOME/designconsole".

Step 2:  Under Resource Management, click IT Resource Type Definition.

Step 3: The IT Resource Type Definition Form allows you to classify IT Resource types. Enter 'Flat File' as the server type and then save by clicking the floppy disk icon.

Step 4:  Under the IT Resource Type Parameter tab, add the following parameters:

Field Name Default Field Value Encrypted Description
Configuration Lookup Lookup.FF.Configuration Main configuration lookup containing the ICF bundle information
hostName Target host name
userName User name used to connect to target system
password Yes Password for the above user
targetFileName Flat file on target system
uniqueAttribute Unique attribute
Connector Server Name FlatFileConnectorServer Connector server
lookupReconFile Lookup recon file
